Scientists confirms the Biblical idea of water as one of the first creations in the universe

According to this article published in July of 2011, scientists have discovered a VERY massive body of water in a cloud-like structure in space, and according to their dating methods put its formation at very near the beginning of the universe.  They put it this way:

“They were watching water being formed at the very start of the known universe, which is to say, water was one of the first substances formed, created in galactic volumes from the earliest time.”

Now, if we apply that statement to our Biblical timeline, the evidence aligns perfect with a creationist interpretation of our origins.  According to the Bible, Genesis 1:2 says “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”  According to this water was one of the very first creations.  2 Peter 3:5 confirms this: “But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.”  That verse also works as a strict reminder to those who “deliberately forget” or even ignore the authority in God’s word.  Of course real science confirms the Bible, but it needs to be accurately interpreted.

Of course young-earth creationists would not agree with the scientist’s dating methods, but really that is the unobserved part of this finding.  The only actual observation is that a lot of water was formed at the very beginning of time.  Of course it was, science you’re only thousands of years late in your amazing “discovery”.

  1. Wow, thanks for the link. I’ve always been rather skeptical of some YEC’s claims that there is a huge amount of water on the edges of the universe based on Genesis 1:7. Maybe they were more right than I gave them credit for!!
